India just signed what’s being called the “Mother of All Deals” with Europe —
and the United States is not exactly applauding. In fact, Washington says one thing very clearly: India wins. Europe? Not so much.
India and the European Union have finalized a historic free trade agreement —one of the biggest economic deals either side has ever signed. But as celebrations broke out in New Delhi and Brussels, the U.S. reacted with a blunt assessment.
According to President Trump’s trade representative, India is about to have a “heyday.”
Speaking to Fox Business, Trump aide Jamieson Greer said he’s reviewed the deal — and believes India clearly comes out on top. He says the agreement gives Indian companies greater access to European markets, while also opening the door for more Indian workers to move into Europe.
