Ito'y matapos sabihin ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte na maituturing na kalaban ng bayan ang mga kumokontra sa paggamit ng naturang pondo. Giit ni Romualdez, si Duterte na rin mismo ang nagsabing hindi niya kailangan ng confidential funds.
