In order to become self-reliant, the first indigenous machine pistol of 9 mm ammunition is manufactured in India and named ASMI. Defense Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) Pune facility and Army jointly develop the ASMI. Soon 9mm pistols in the defense are going to be replaced by the ASMI.
