Organization Plans Out
Huge Sea Cleanup Project According to Forbes, Ocean Cleanup will begin in
an area this year known as the "Pacific trash vortex." The spot, which contains trillions of
amounts of garbage, is between Hawaii and California. Yearly, Ocean Cleanup's floating device is designed to pick up 150,000 pounds of trash. The device, which has already passed
required testing, cost $20 million. It is moves, the device will pick up trash in netting designed in the shape of a "U." An incoming vessel will then take it away from the system once it fills up. Back on land, the trash is then properly organized. Ocean Cleanup says the project, which
is the first of its kind, is scheduled
to begin this October.
