This stairway to heaven looks more like a ladder from hell ... but it's still freaking awesome to watch.

Pyrotechnic artist Cai Guoqiang, designed the fiery work of art called, Sky Ladder, that was set off in Quanzhou City in China.

The fire ladder was raised into the air by a weather balloon that pulled over 1600 feet of wire studded with fireworks and gunpowder.

It was dedicated to the artist's grandmother who recently turned 100 years old ... a feat all her own.
