Saira Banu: This award is a recognition of Dilip sahib’s values

Saira Banu is ecstatic about her husband, the thespian Dilip Kumar, winning the Padma Vibhushan this year. She says, "Whoever comes to India often says, 'Sabse pehle Taj Mahal dekhna hai, Dilip sahib se milna hai, Lataji ko sunna hai.' I'm very happy that the Government of the day has paid this honour to Dilip Kumar sahib and am grateful to God for it. I would like to express my gratitude through your paper to everyone who have called and emailed and blogged to congratulate Dilip sahib. I would request them to pray for his good health to Allah. I sincerely believe that he has been awarded not only for his great contribution to the performing arts, but also for his values.
